A: The banks here in Thailand charge insane service fees for such items like
international money orders and personal checks. We would lose money if
we chose to accept these methods. Plus they also place a mandatory 2-3 week
hold on them until the funds clear which mean that it could take upto 2 months
before you even see your purchases.
Q: WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY "REGISTERING OUR ITEMS"?
A: Registering our items with the Royal Thailand Post is a way for us to keep track
of your items (as well as you) and provides a measure of safety against lost,
damaged or stolen items. When a parcel is registered, a signature is required
upon delivery so that it can't be left in a mailbox and stolen or damaged in the
weather. Having the parcel registered is like having it insured against being lost
so if it is, the Royal Thailand Post is liable for the cost of the item. It is a way to
protect ourselves as well as you from negligent and malicious behavior.
